We are looking forward to sponsoring the 2008 ABMA Symposium Working Group in Norfolk, Virginia. Dates are 3 to 9 August 2008 at the Norfolk Waterside Marriott Hotel.  The room rates are $107.22 w/Tax. We have negotiated the Symposium rate for reservations made through 11 July 2008.  The reservations are under the group code ABMABMA.   Visit the Hotel's Website for reservations and more information.

Greetings from the Tidewater Chapter!

With the symposium only 4+ months away, the Tidewater Chapter needs your support in getting personnel to continue making reservations for their stay at the Waterside Marriott Hotel. Besides obviously needing to fill the hotel full of AB’s, the Tidewater region has a large active duty and retired AB’ population which may not stay at the hotel every night. Our concern with this is they would have made their reservation for example, "Friday night only" (Banquet Night) and fill all remaining hotel rooms before the people coming in from “out of town” could even make their reservations. This could have caused people (who are traveling) to not be able to stay at the Waterside Marriott the full time!
We have worked out a solution with the hotel so this won’t happen.
Until the 11th of June, the hotel will not accept single night reservations. This will give the "out of town" travelers plenty of time to make reservations and will still leave the “local” AB’s one month (11 June to 11 July) to fill the remaining rooms.
But please don't forget, by making your reservations as soon as possible and filling the hotel it does give the Tidewater Chapter more leverage because it shows our commitment to the hotel and the local businesses as we continue to work with them in cutting cost down for other events!

Thank you and we look forward to seeing all of you in August!
